About the College of Engineering & Science
University of Detroit Mercy is Michigan's largest and most comprehensive Catholic University. It was formed in 1990, following a consolidation of the University of Detroit, founded in 1877 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and Mercy College of Detroit, founded in 1941 by the Religious Sisters of Mercy.
More than 13,000 engineering graduates have earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in 13 different engineering disciplines from Detroit Mercy since the College was founded in October, 1911.
And the College of Engineering & Science has the third oldest co-op program in the country.

Accreditation
Our Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.
Our Alumni
Our alumni include engineers who have excelled in their fields with many rising to high level positions in a wide variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, chemical, civil engineering, computing, construction, defense, electronics, energy, intellectual property and many more. Others have become leaders of national laboratories and federal agencies and still others have become leaders of engineering education, including deans of engineering colleges.
