At 12 years old, Don Yick Chin ’52 left his grandmother in rural China and traveled alone to America during World War II. Armed with determination and a Chinese-English dictionary, he saw education as his path to a better future. With the support and generosity of others, it eventually led him to UDM. Now 100, Chin is making sure future students have similar opportunities through an endowed scholarship.
