Tau Beta Pi – Engineering Honor Society at UDM

Tau Beta Pi is the oldest engineering honor society in the United States. It is one of the most respected groups for engineering students.

The University of Detroit Mercy chapter was established on Jan. 20, 1941 and honors excellence in engineering and leadership.

The chapter is dedicated to Clement J. Freund, dean of Engineering from 1932–62 and professor of Engineering until 1965.

Membership in Tau Beta Pi is by invitation only. It recognizes students with high grades, who show leadership and good character. Members join a network of top engineering students and professionals who value academic success, innovation and service.
