For International Students:

Detroit is a welcoming place for International Students because of its many ethnic groups. Suburban Detroit has the largest Mosque in North America and has the Arab American National Museum. Ethnic groups from the Mideast include people from Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Chaldeans, Palestinians, and Egyptians. The South Asian community is growing as exemplified by a Bengali-language newspaper moving from New York to Detroit. There is a Chinese Engineer's Association in Detroit. The link to Asia is increasing as Detroit Automakers diversify worldwide. Mexicantown is the liveliest and fastest growing area within the city.

The City also has historic Irish, Polish and Greek neighborhoods.
