Engineering and Computer Science

When you study engineering at Detroit Mercy, your college experience is about so much more than what you've learned in the classroom - it's about taking that knowledge and using it to make your mark on the world.

You'll be encouraged to get involved in research projects and build an online portfolio from your freshman year.  Our co-op opportunities mean you'll graduate with real, paid work experience.  Don't worry if all this seems a little overwhelming, our dedicated faculty will be there to offer support and guidance every step of the way.

Our students are driven to succeed!

Do you want to be a dentist, doctor, physician assistant or research scientist?

Our science programs will have you well-prepared for advanced degrees in graduate, medical or dental schools.  You might even choose to be involved in a hands-on, authentic research project in your first-year!  Learn more about our SEA-Phage and First Year Research Experience in Science programs.

Our classes will be taught by full time professors who understand what it takes for you to succeed in professional schools.  In fact, Detroit Mercy graduates typically have high admissions rates into these schools.

When it comes time for recommendations to enter graduate or professional schools, your professors will know you and your work since our classes are small.  That's a real advantage!

Are you interested in pursuing a biomedical research career?  Check out the ReBUILDetroit program which is funded by a 5-year grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  It offers intensive training for students interested in pursuing academic, research or industry careers in biomedical, behavioral, clinical or social sciences.
