Detroit Mercy 2019 Chem Club

Detroit Mercy’s College of Engineering & Science is pleased to announce that the University’s Chemistry Club achieved a rating of “Outstanding” for the 2018-19 academic year by the American Chemical Society. This is the 15th straight year the Chemistry Club has earned this designation given to only the top 5% of all student member groups nationally.

Written comments on the substantial annual report submitted by officers last May commended the Club's fundraising and outreach activities, which support Detroit Mercy’s Jesuit and Mercy values and mission, as well as its varied social events and adherence to the Society's strategic plan under diversity, inclusion, equity and respect.

Chemistry Club President Cameron Johns will accept the award on behalf of the Club at the ACS National meeting in Philadelphia in March 2020.
