Spice and food flavoring giant McCormick & Company announced new goals for sustainable packaging improvements include converting iconic metal cans to a 100% recyclable PET can.  Michael Okoroafor, master of chemistry and vice-president, global sustainability & packaging, is leading the way.

McCormick & Company unveiled new 2025 corporate goals that align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focus on reducing the company's global environmental impact. These objectives include the company’s commitment to create packaging innovations that reduce packaging weight and overall carbon footprint, among other important environment goals such as greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and water reduction.

Packaging Digest connected with Okoroafor to discuss further details about McCormick's sustainable packaging efforts.

Read Okoroafor’s interview in a Packaging Digest article, “McCormick’s recipe for packaging that’s more sustainable,” October 30, 2017.
