Robotics scholarship opportunity

Detroit Mercy’s College of Engineering & Science offers two $5,000 scholarships to students who have participated in a FIRST Competition in high school and are pursuing a bachelor degree in any of our programs in Engineering & Science The scholarship is renewable for up to four years.

Top candidates will have been an active participant on the team, preferably in a leadership role, and should be able to express how their participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) or FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) has positively impacted their interest in the STEM fields.

“Our programs in Engineering & Science are known for the personalized attention and hands on projects our faculty work on with students,” says Dr. Katherine Snyder, Interim Dean of the College of Engineering & Science.  “The First Robotics program attracts exactly the kind of student that would thrive at Detroit Mercy.”

The scholarship will be automatically renewed at the end of a student’s first year and will be renewed thereafter, provided the student remains in good academic standing according to the University’s Scholarship Renewal Policy. Renewal of the award is contingent upon continuous full-time enrollment.

To apply for the scholarship, submit the online FIRST Scholarship application by May 1st. Only first-year applicants are eligible to apply for the FIRST Scholarship; current Detroit Mercy students and transfers are ineligible.
