Chemistry students, Christopher Niedek and Brandon Wilks, present their award winning research at Brewing Chemistry on February 16.

Their topic, A Prodrug Approach to Metal Ion Decorporation, won first place in the College of Engineering & Science Research Symposium in October, 2015.

“One of the goals of the Research Symposium is to provide students with the opportunity to present their research to faculty and their colleagues,” says Dean Gary Kuleck.  “We are pleased to see our undergraduates engaged in research early in their academic careers.”

Brewing Chemistry is an informal monthly lecture series designed to make science fun and accessible for all.

The lecture takes place at the Traffic Jam & Snug, 511 West Canfield Street in Detroit at 7 pm.

Admission and parking are free.

Niedek and Wilks will present their research at the upcoming American Chemical Society conference in San Diego next month.
