Benvenuto receives American Chemical Society Fellow Award

Chemistry and Biochemistry chair, Dr. Mark Benvenuto, receives 2015 American Chemical Society Fellow Award.

Dr. Mark BenvenutoThe award recognizes Benvenuto's contributions to science research including conducting X-ray fluorescence research in artifacts analyses and consumer product materials, including copper coinage of King Herod in ancient Judea and antique patent medicines at the Henry Ford Museum.

Additionally, Benvenuto is recongized for serving as a Councilor and two-term Chair of the Detroit Local Section, which won a 2005 ChemLuminary Award for Outstanding Performance by a Local Section. He is also recognized for serving as General Chair of the 43rd Central Regional Meeting and on the Committees on Nomenclature, Terminology, and Symbols and Constitution and Bylaws.
