ME and ECE Students Team Up and Place 2nd in Robotics Competition

SEALE 1SEALE 2

A team of UDM engineering students (team SEALE) received the second place award in the Robotics Innovation Competition and Conference (RICC) held at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) on November 7-8, 2009.  The theme of the competition focused on the development of robotic technologies to improve the quality of life.  SEALE, which is an acronym for Stability Enhanced Assistive Lift for the Elderly, is a robot designed to aid a physically challenged individual (elderly or disabled) to transition from a seated position (chair or floor) to a standing posture.
