Short Biography
Prof Mehrabi received his Ph.D. from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada), M.S. from METU (Ankara, Turkey) and B.S. from Shiraz University (Shiraz, Iran) all in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Detroit Mercy and before joining the University in 2002, he was a research faculty at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
He has several years experience (academia and industry) in research, design and development of modern manufacturing systems, advanced processes and their monitoring systems, industrial control systems and industrial automation. His research interests and publications are in general area of advanced manufacturing systems, computer control of manufacturing systems, computer integrated manufacturing, and automation of production systems (hardware and software). He is a reviewer of several reputable journals/conferences in his areas of interest.
Research Interests
His research interests include advanced manufacturing, computer control of manufacturing systems, computer integrated manufacturing, automated systems and automation of production systems (hardware and software), mechatronics, analysis, design and implementation of industrial control systems (hardware and software), design and implementation of automated machines of manufacturing systems, industrial automation (hardware and software), real time computer-based controllers (hardware and software), analysis and simulation of the processes and their controller design and implementation, design and implementation of advanced monitoring systems, application of advanced control strategies to processes and systems, and design and implementation of mechanical systems controlled by microprocessors (hardware and software).
