Applying for Graduate Studies
Admission Requirements:
A GRE is not required for admission. A undergraduate GPA of around 3.0 is required in a discipline related to civil engineering such as architecture, chemistry, business, or other engineering.
For International Students:
All students apply on-line. Additionally, non-U.S. students must contact the International Students Office (ISO) at UDM.
We do not require a TOEFL score to apply, but when you get here we will give our own exam which will determine if you need any English skills. Also we do not require a GRE score, but evaluate your transcripts. International transcripts must first be evaluated by World Evaluation Service (WES). We admit students throughout the year for starting in August, January, or May.
Financial aid such as research assistanceships are extremely rare. Most students pay for their graduate degree through working during the daytime. UDM has a unique graduate-level cooperative education program. Our graduate students are placed in engineering firms and earn money for tuition and living expenses. All International students may participate in this program even if they only have a student visa, because it is a required course.
The College of Engineering and Science has a policy that all new students must stay in the program that they have been admitted to for one term of courses before they can transfer in or out of the program.
