UNITE

uniteThe UNITE program is a four-week nonresidential program for high school students designed to resemble a university freshman engineering curriculum. The goal is to introduce students to the subjects and skills necessary to succeed as an engineering student. Classes involve hands-on activities emphasizing teamwork. The five classes that students take are Persuasive Speaking, Computer Applications, Math, Physics and College Writing. Each UNITE student will be officially registered as a UDM student. In each course the students will receive a grade that will go on their official UDM transcript. Students can earn two college credits at UDM in each course. This program is partially funded by the U.S. Army Research Office through the JETS organization and DAPCEP (Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program).
