Day and Time
Technology Discovery Day will take place on October 19, 2012 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on the McNichols Campus.Registering Your School
In order for us to plan accordingly, a teacher MUST register their school. It only takes a minute to complete the online registration form.
Arrival Time
Schools should plan on arriving between 8:30 and 9:00 am, using the McNichols Entrance and parking near Calihan Hall. Upon arrival, proceed to the Calihan Hall. We ask that schools try to arrive by 9:00 am.Activities
Between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm, you and your students will be free to move around campus and participate in the following activities.Competitions
Our Engineering & Science student organizations sponsor a variety of competitions from Toothpick Bridge to Jeopardy. Most competitions will be held in Calihan Hall, a few in the Engineering building.Chemistry Magic Show
Always a popular event, the students and faculty of the Chem Club will wow you with a dazzling display of chemistry-based experiments!Engineering Displays and Exhibits
The High Bay in the Engineering building will be home to displays and exhibits from local companies and the departments in the College.
Lunch
Starting at 11:00 am, the concession stands in Calihan Hall will be open for lunch. Students who wish to buy lunch should bring about $6.00. You and your students may also visit our cafeteria.Awards Presentation
By 12:20, everyone will gather in Calihan Hall for a short Competition Awards Presentation.Departure
All activities will conclude by 1:00. Don't forget to pick up your school's free Tech Day T-shirts before you leave! Please email Pamela Rhoades Todd at toddpa@udmercy.edu with the number of T-shirts and sizes needed for each participant no later than Monday, Spetember 24th, 2012 to ensure that enough T-shirts are ordered.
