Detroit Mercy Math Student Wins 2nd Place at STEM Diversity Conference

The Eaton and Louis Stokes Midwest Center of Excellence (LSMCE) Technical Open House and Poster Session was held Friday, Nov. 2 at the Eaton Innovation Center in Southfield. 

Research posters from University of Detroit Mercy students Yussef Awin, John Petrykowski and Santana Scott were accepted among 19 total submissions in the areas of Math, Biology and Engineering. John Petrykowski, a Mathematical Sciences student, earned second-place honors for his poster: "2017- 2018 Influenza Epidemic Model of Southeast Michigan." 

The Eaton and LSMCE Technical Open House and Poster Session is hosted by the Eaton Corporation for students and faculty in the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) community.
