Presenting research at national conferences

January 19, 2018

Attending a small university has many advantages.  As an undergraduate you are able to join a faculty research laboratory and perhaps present your research at national conferences.  Saamera Awali, Houda Khalil and Lauren May along with Dr. Rachelle Belanger associate professor of biology, presented research at Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology Conference in San Francisco, CA earlier this month.

Poster presentations included:

Title: Atrazine exposure causes DNA damage and changes in cytochrome P450 expression in the hepatopancreas of crayfish (Orconectes virilis)
Authors: Saamera Awali, Monir R. Mardini, Jacob D. Kagey, Rachelle M. Belanger
Collaborative research with Dr. Jacob Kagey.

Title: Atrazine Exposure Affects Olfactory Sensory Neuron Morphology in The Lateral Antennules of Crayfish (Orconectes virilis)
Authors: Houda H. Khalil, Amiesha Y. Tutwiler, Lauren A. May, Saamera Awali and Rachelle M. Belanger

Congratulations Saamera, Houda and Lauren!
