Alumnus endorsed by STEM community

David Gioiello ’70 bachelor of science was endorsed for a Board of Education position by local grassroots group to elect more STEM candidates to office.

The nonprofit group, 314 Action, was founded by members of the STEM community, grassroots supporters and political activists in Shelton, Connecticut.

Gioiello worked for GE, NASA and currently is co-owner of a consulting firm specializing in occupational safety and health. He served on several national professional boards and is past president of a Foundation that provides scholarships to students pursuing degrees in safety and health.

Gioiello is committed to increasing student SAT scores and graduation rates. If re-elected, he will continue working to ensure that the children of Shelton receive a quality education. “STEM education must grow within our educational program, as one trained in science I know firsthand the key to our future is through good science and engineering.”
