Guest speaker addresses civil engineering class
Students in Dr. Utpal Dutta’s Project Management and Costing (CIVE 4850) heard from an expert guest speaker in project management last week.
Dr. William Moylan, an associate professor of Construction Management at Eastern Michigan University, spoke about all aspects of project management lifecycle including risk management, stakeholders and conflict resolution.
“The main purpose of project management is for initiating a project to accomplish some goal,” said Moylan. “It also increases the likelihood of completion and identifies someone to spearhead the project for accountability.”
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Moylan is actively involved in the Project Management Institute, Toastmasters International and Engineering Society of Detroit.
