High school seniors begin dual enrollment in CAD course
Thirteen Detroit Cristo Rey High School seniors are taking courses through a dual enrollment program this semester.
The engineering dual enrollment program in its second year offers high school seniors the opportunity to take college level courses for credit while experiencing university life.
The students are enrolled in a computer aided design (CAD) course.
“You should be proud of your accomplishments this far,” said Frank Venegas, chairman and CEO of the Ideal Group. “You are able to say you’ve started university at Detroit Mercy.”
Venegas is a supporter of the program and the future of Cristo Rey students.
Nadia Shelton, a senior at Cristo Rey, is excited about the opportunity to study at Detroit Mercy.
“I like to create things,” said Shelton. “I have developed websites and written code. I would like to learn how to design something new.”
As part of our Cristo Rey experience, Shelton worked at General Motors and can see herself eventually working for an automotive company.
For the sixth straight year, Detroit Cristo Rey is celebrating 100% college acceptance of its senior class.
Congratulations! We look forward to welcoming you to campus and help you build your boundless future.
