Your future begins today

September 22, 2016

Today may be the first day of autumn but students and employers are already thinking about next summer.

The College of Engineering & Science held its annual Fall Career Fair in the high bay with more than 100 students speaking to representatives from more than 30 engineering companies.

“This is a great opportunities for students to engage with employers,” said Wendy Nix, Coordinator of Cooperative Education and Career Services in the College of Engineering & Science.  “There are companies representing all the engineering disciplines, not just automotive.”

Fanuc America Corporation is a relative newcomer to the Engineering & Science Career Fair.

“We are looking to fill summer intern positions with juniors and seniors,” said Denise Scanlon, Senior Human Resources Representative at the robotic company, Fanuc.  “We are a local company looking for local talent.  Many of our summer intern positions lead to full time employment after the student graduates.”

Earlier this week, alumni and representatives from FCA were excited to see the interest in their company.

The engineering program and curriculum is geared to producing early career success in graduates with hands-on opportunities and three mandatory co-op placements.

Our students are driven to succeed.
