Ortega recently took a position as a Quality Operation Group Leader at Detroit Hamtramck Assembly. Prior to this position she was the Quality Launch Manager for the 2017 Chevrolet Volt. She actively promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers to women and members of the Hispanic community.

“As a proud Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers, I am honored to add my congratulations to the class of 2016,” says Ortega.  “I am fully committed in developing and supporting the next generation of Latino leaders.”

As the daughter of first-generation Mexican immigrant, she leads GM’s Hispanic employee recruiting outreach, participates as an active member of the GM Hispanic employee resource group and is currently President of the Detroit Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE).

Ortega received the YHCA award in 2014.
