Dual enrolled high school students complete course

Twelve dual enrolled high school students from Cristo Rey successfully completed the ENGR 1080 Foundations of Engineering Design course earlier this month.

“This was a fantastic group of students to teach,” says Dr. Nassif Rayess.

The final class of the semester took on a “Shark Tank” experience.  Students presented a business plan for their original engineered product.  Fellow students and teachers from Cristo Rey High School were the judges.

Teachers commented that the students were motivated and excited about this course. 

Cristo Rey is celebrating 100 percent of its graduating senior class has been accepted to colleges for the fifth consecutive year.  (See the story on WDIV.)

Additionally, thanks to support from Fiat Chrysler, eight Cristo Rey students will be receiving scholarships to study STEM in college including at University of Detroit Mercy.  (See Cristo Rey’s Facebook post)

UDM is proud to welcome Cristo Rey students to the class of 2020.
