Celebration of Scholarly Achievement

April 19, 2016

More than 70 posters were presented at this year’s Celebration for Scholarly Achievement along with hundreds of books, chapters, journal articles and conference proceedings.

This event highlights the scholarship of more than 300 faculty and 5,000 students across UDM’s colleges and schools.

The scholarly work presented is evidence of the broad impact UDM faculty and student researchers have on industry, manufacturing, finance, health care and other fields.

This year’s posters included 16 from freshmen in the ReBUILDetroit program.

“This is a great opportunity for me to present my research,” says Vanessa Lee, ReBUILDetroit scholar.

ReBUILDetroit is funded by a $21.2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to fuel the academic renaissance of Detroit by establishing it as the center for biomedical research training for underrepresented undergraduate students.  Consortium partners include Marygrove College, University of Detroit Mercy and Wayne State University.
