In a recent article, “UDM professor: Laudato Si’ can offer blueprint for responsibility’, appearing in the Michigan Catholic, Dr. Greg Grabowski highlights the importance of taking care of our planet in light of Pope Francis’ encyclical.

“Development has to have a moral aspect to it, in regards to how we treat the environment as society progresses and how we treat each other,” says Grabowski.

Not all the Earth’s environmental problems are caused by climate change; some are man-made and can be fixed with more sustainable solutions.

Education on the facts of global warming and man-made environmental impacts are critical in effecting a change.

“For Jesuits, education is empowerment, and the pope is trying to get everybody to engage in an avenue of discussion,” says Grabowski.
