The Chemistry Club is hosting the 3rd Annual Ultimate Liquid Nitrogen Ping Pong event at 1 pm in the Engineering High Bay on December 10.

Approximately 1,500 ping pong balls will be blasted from a trash can using liquid nitrogen.  Watch what happened last year.

Participants can purchase cups to catch balls for cash prizes.  Cups are $2 each or 3 for $5.  Additionally, tape is available for $1.

Cash prizes include:

  • One (1) golden ball (with “Au” written on it) for $100
  • Five (5) marked balls (with “5” written on them) for $50
  • Ten (10) marked balls (with “10” written on them) for $10
  • Twenty-five (25) marked balls (with “25” written on them) for $5
  • Any other unmarked white ball for $2

Purchase your cup and tape in the High Bay at 1 pm.

Proceeds from the event help defray the cost of members attending the American Chemical Society national meeting in March, 2016.

The explosion takes place at 1:30 pm.
