Free summer camp for teachers provides high school students college credit

New this summer is a free camp for teachers, which will allow high school students to receive college credit.

The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Summer Camp for Teachers provides a week of instruction on CAD1.   Those completing the camp will become certified to teach CAD1 at their school earning students college credit. 

Mechanical Engineering professor, Kirstie Plantenberg, said, “Very few high schools offer college level CAD classes for college credit.  We want to expand this model to include more schools.”

The camp runs July 20 to 24 from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. at the University of Detroit Mercy, McNichols campus, Engineering Building room E375.
