GoodTurn Mobile App

GoodTurn connects volunteer drivers with non-profits who want to move stuff!

GoodTurn connects Ford Motor Company volunteer drivers, using their personal vehicles, to non-profits in Michigan to assist in picking up and delivering donated goods and resources. Non-profits can create jobs that involve picking up and delivering goods and resources by providing pick-up/drop-off locations, times/dates, and lists or descriptions of items, as well as the type of vehicle needed.  Drivers can review the list of available jobs (sorted by various categories) and accept a job for pick-up and delivery.  Non-profits can review which jobs have been accepted and which are still awaiting a driver.

Further releases will allow for additional drivers to be validated for participation and a wider geographical area!

A team of University of Detroit Mercy alumni, students and faculty teamed up to develop an app that connects non-profit organizations with volunteers who can move resources and materials.

The app was made possible by a $200,000 grant to the College of Engineering & Science from the Bill Ford Better World Challenge, which encourages Ford employees to work through the Ford Volunteer Corps on transformational community projects. The idea came from three Ford employees, two of whom are Detroit Mercy alumni.
