Engineering Student of the Year

This award is presented to an outstanding graduating engineering student. Designation of this award is based on the candidate’s academic achievements, leadership capabilities, personality, and extra-curricular activities. The nominees exemplify the necessary characteristics and are considered by their peers worthy of the distinction. The top three candidates interview with the Deans of the College.  A winner is selected after the interview.

Science Student of the Year

This award is presented to an outstanding graduating biology, chemistry, computer science or mathematics student. Designation of this award is based on the candidate’s academic achievements, leadership capabilities, personality, and extra-curricular activities. The nominees exemplify the necessary characteristics and are considered by their peers worthy of the distinction. The top three candidates interview with the Deans of the College.  A winner is selected after the interview.

Linsenmeyer Award for Service

This award is presented to the student who by his/her activity excelled in support of the College of Engineering & Science

Purple Shaft Award

His/her loving student bestow this honor upon the teacher who tortured his/her students with homework, quizzes, exams and projects beyond human comprehension for the entire year.  Voting for the Purple Shaft is on a paper ballot.  Cast your 25 cent vote in the Dean's Office (E126), Chemistry Office (C113) or Biology Office (LS101). 

Voting for all awards except the Purple Shaft are done electronically.  Students will receive an email message inviting them to vote on Monday, February 13, 2017.  Voting concludes at 11:59 pm on March 6, 2017.
