College of Engineering & Science Program Assessment
The College continuously strives to make its programs as effective as possible. This effort includes the establishment of program objectives and outcomes, and implementation of an assessment process to determine how well the objectives and outcomes are being met. Results of this assessment are used to improve the engineering programs and ultimately better serve our constituents.
The Civil & Environmental, Electrical & Computer, and Mechanical Engineering departments have developed program educational objectives and outcomes in response to constituent needs and requirements of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Program educational objectives are general statements that refer to the professional performance of our students after graduation; program outcomes are desired attributes of our students upon graduation. If a given student satisfies all outcomes at graduation, there is a high likelihood that he or she will meet the longer-range objectives. The individual program objectives and outcomes can be viewed on the department web pages.
